On Wednesday 15th March, Class 6 took part in the heat of a science competition in which they were challenged to design and build radio towers in teams using doweling and rubber bands. The children were given a brief demonstration of how to combine the resources effectively to make sturdy structures and were then given a budget and time to design and construct their own towers. The children had a fantastic morning and made some excellent structures, with some even touching the hall ceiling! The towers were judged and scores were given, with the overall winning team qualifying for the final against other local schools which was held at The Grand the following week. It was great to work alongside other schools and take part in a range of exciting, new challenges.
