Mrs Beverly Allan – Head Teacher
I have worked at Brookside Primary School since September 1995. I started my career here with a class of Year 1 pupils. The following year I moved into Reception Class where I spent 12 very happy years. Whilst teaching in Reception I also became a member of the Senior Leadership Team with responsibility for the Infant Department and also for being subject leader for Literacy, I then became Deputy Head. In January 2008 I was appointed as Head Teacher and I am thoroughly enjoying the role.
Mrs Amanda Hailwood – Deputy Head
I have worked at Brookside School for several years and I teach Key Stage 1. Within school, I work with the children on our School Council. I am the subject leader for History and Geography. Outside of school, I really enjoy reading and taking my dog for long walks.
Mrs Sarah Birch
I am Sarah Birch. I have worked at Brookside Primary School since 2008 and have taught in both Reception and Year 1. Currently I am working in EY1 Reception Class alongside Emma Woodend. We are having lots of fun planning exciting activities for the children.
Mrs Emma Woodend
I started working here at Brookside in October 2010. Since September 2015 myself and Mrs Birch job share and teach in the Reception Class. I am our school Special Educational Needs Co-ordination (SENCO) and work very closely with Mrs Oldcorne and Mrs Allan in this role. As SENCO I help to ensure children with Education, Health and Care Plans or other specific needs are supported in school. I am also our schools PSHE leader and a member of the Healthy Schools team. At the weekends and during the holidays I love spending quality time with my young family. I am available in school from Monday to Thursday.
Mrs Sarah Barnett
I have worked at Brookside School since 2012 and teach in EY2. I am the subject leader for Science and RE. Outside of school, I really enjoy going for days out with my husband and children, reading, crafting and going for long walks.
Mrs Emma Procter
I started at Brookside in 2010 and I teach in EY2. I am the subject leader for Computing, Art and DT as well as the Educational Visits Co-ordinator. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my young family, reading and visiting historical sites.
Miss Rebekah Ashton
I have been working at Brookside since September 2016 in Class 3. Before that I worked in Year 4 for three years at a school in Blackburn. In school, I am the Music subject leader and lead the school choir. Outside of school, I sing in an adult choir and play the piano.
Miss Sarah Luker
I started working at Brookside in September 2015. Before Coming to Brookside I taught on supply at a number of different schools and I spent 2 terms as the PPA teacher at a school in Burnley. Within school, I am the Class 4 Teacher and I am also the Subject Leader for PE, organising all events in and out of school. Outside of school I enjoy swimming and spending time with friends and family.
Miss Emma Meloy
In September 2015 I was lucky enough to be appointed in Upper Key Stage 2 at Brookside. I have recently been appointed as Curriculum Leader and I am really enjoying working with our fantastic team of staff. Outside of school, I love having my nose in a good book and hanging upside down in aerial art classes.
Mrs Gillian Fielding
I have worked at Brookside since September 2016 in Upper Key Stage 2. Before joining Brookside, I worked for three years in Key Stage 1 at a school in Brierfield and then four years in Key Stage 2 at a school in Blackburn. Outside work, I enjoy spending time with my friends and young family.
Mrs Anita Cunliffe-Senior Administrative Officer
I started working at Brookside in October 2014 and became Senior Admin Officer in January 2016, a role which I enjoy immensely. Outside of work I love spending time with family, long walks in the country, listening to music and reading.
Mrs Alexandra Bell – Admin Support
I began work at Brookside in September 2013, and I currently work 3 days a week in the school office – ie Monday, Thursday and Friday. In addition I manage the accounts for the Care Club, so you may find me here on other days too undertaking that role. In my spare time you will find me with family and friends, in my garden or in front of the ironing board!
